BACKGROUND
CITIZENS AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is a local nonprofit organization which acts to promote an awareness of Domestic Violence and the damage it does to individuals, and to family, church, and business relationships.
It was formed in 1996 by a group of people from Butler and Warren Counties. Citizens Against Domestic Violence seeks to educate through information and to implement services to those who desire freedom from violence/abuse.
MISSION STATEMENT
The scholarship fund will recognize and provide financial assistance to several graduating high school seniors or college/university students intending to pursue a career in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or related areas dealing with domestic violence
APPLICANTS
Students who attended a CADV presentation during high-school or college are eligable to apply for the scholarship.
Applicants must be pursuing a two-year or four-year degree program from an accredited college or university in socialwork, counseling, criminal justice, education, or related field
The financial need of the student will be taken into consideration.
USE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The award money to be used for education purposes will be paid directly to the college or university in which the student is enrolled.
SELECTION
A scholarship committee from Citizens Against Domestic Violence will screen all student applications and make the final selection based on the student’s application, citizenship and financial need.
FUNDING
Funding for $1000 scholarships is available this year to qualified high school candidates and a $500 scholarship to one college student.
